UPS Feeder Tractor Cab
Take a seat in our Feeder Drivers' daily office. Every day, tractors like this pull single, double, and even triple trailers filled with thousands of packages to UPS sorting hubs around the country. UPS owns 11,400 tractors like this one, and in 2006 they drove more than 1 billion miles.
Take a step back in time with this piece of UPS marketing memorabilia. Published in 1929, this book gives us a glimpse of the past, at a time when UPS was focussed on winning retail delivery business. The book is worth taking a look at for its interesting woodcut print graphics alone.
It doesn’t fly, but this workhorse is an essential piece of airline equipment. Each night, more than 600 of these tugs scurry around Worldport, UPS’s all-points hub in Louisville, Kentucky. They haul trains of packages from the hub to the aircraft door.
Each tug is capable of pulling up to six loaded package containers. That’s nearly 30,000 pounds of towing power in one small package.
When it comes to serving the world’s eighth largest airline and the world’s largest package sorting and distribution facility, these tugs carry the day.
